DOWNTOWN. Chef-owner Robert Stehling opened the doors of this neighborhood restaurant in 1996 and has received local and national accolades for his sumptuous down-home southern cuisine. Committed to using only the freshest ingredients, Sehling offers such divine dishes as seared salmon steak with lemon dill butter (served with whole hominy and sauteed greens) and country-style pork ribs with red rice, pinto beans, and blackstrap molasses barbecue sauce. The dessert menu features buttermilk pie, described by diners as absolute "heaven." The restaurant is located off the beaten track in a renovated 1897 shotgun-style house with its original tin ceiling. |
