My husband and I were in San Diego last week and were looking for a great place to eat breakfast. Hob Nob Hill was recommended as being popular with locals, and we could see why after eating there. This is one of those places you love to go on a Saturday morning, and savor an extra cup of coffee, just because you're not in a hurry. The staff is very friendly, and the food is served in plentiful portions. Its not your typical California fare--this is "eggs and bacon down-home cooking". One note to Southerners: the word "biscuit" in San Diego actually refers to something resembling a dinner roll. While it is quite good, a San Diego biscuit is NOT the same type of biscuit you would get at a Cracker Barrel in the South.

Great breakfast menu selection, friendly staff. Unlike a chain or upscale restaurant of which an order is restricted by the entries available on the computer, they can actually customize the food for you !! Must try breakfast items--coffee cake, muffin, French toast, waffles, and breakfast potatoes were great. Hidden in a great tranquil neighborhood similar to Cow Hollow of San Francisco.
