Description: LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN. This park was commissioned on August 19, 1890, making it the nation's first – and largest – National Military Park. Stroll the grounds on the free self-guided tour and you'll see cannons and monuments to soldiers on both sides. Or go the museum, where you can get a guided tour, examine the Fuller gun collection, and watch a movie about one of the longest and bloodiest battles fought during the Civil War.
