December 2009 3 S Arizona Ave Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, Chandler 85244 |

| |
Description:
Chandler is the only city in the US with a Christmas tree made out of tumbleweeds. The tradition started in 1957, and the yearly process is more involved than you might think (displays at the tree-lighting ceremony detail its construction). The fun starts with games, food and music; the parade comes next, and the event culminates with the dramatic Tumbleweed Tree Lighting. Santa is in residence here for a few days too, so stop by and have your picture taken! |
