        Description: CHANDLER. Ranked among the country's top skate parks, this Chandler Recreation Division facility is 35,000 square feet of fun for skateboarders and in-line skaters from around the country. The perimeter fence is frequently lined with amazed and appreciative spectators – even non-skaters can enjoy this park. Also, it's part of the expansive Snedigar Recreation Center complex, which also includes a popular teen rec room, ball fields, a playground and a special bark park.

        Description: CHANDLER. A fantastic place to spend family time, Desert Breeze Park is chock full of fun things to do. Children especially like the splash pad, along with a playground, ball fields, rides on Desert Breeze Railroad (a 16"-gauge train), a carousel, and a lake for fishing. Grown-ups favor walking trails, tennis courts, a hummingbird habitat, and a demonstration garden that features Southwestern plants. Restrooms and picnic facilities are available.

Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch

        Description: GILBERT. Even if you're not a birdwatcher, a visit to this 110-acre wildlife preserve is worth your time. The landscape is beautiful, with a series of eight ponds providing a comfortable habitat for all sorts of wildlife, especially birds. Over 150 species have been spotted here, including hummingbirds, ducks, herons, vultures, gulls, pelicans, hawks, cormorants, roadrunners, hawks, swallows and geese. Several paths wend their way through the preserve, and ranger-led family walks are offered on the third Saturday of the month, October-April.
