Located on the shores of Lake Townsend, the park is renowned for its public golf courses, which were designed by Rees Jones and George Cobb. |

Description:
Bur-Mil Park encompasses 247-acres and features both passive and active recreational opportunities as well as the Clubhouse, a rental facility. Picnic shelters, hiking & biking trails, fishing, tennis and volleyball courts are some of its popular activities. The park also boasts a practice driving range and a par 3 9-hole golf course, both lit for night play. The state-of-the-art Family Aquatic Center attracts visitors of all ages, and an old barn on the property has been renovated and now houses the Wildlife Education Center, which offers exhibits and wildlife classes. Description:
Located off of Lawndale Drive North, this park is a bikers and hikers haven. There are a number of trails available for use including a one-and-a-half mile plus paved loop, a .2 mile bike trail that connects to the military park area, and a half mile trail designed for the visually impaired. The park offers a number of scenic water fountains and playground areas as well as picnic shelters, and free fishing on two stocked lakes. But perhaps the most popular feature is the "Bark Park," Greensboro's only off-leash dog park. |

Description:
England's Cornwallis defeated General Nathanael Greene on March 15, 1781, and the forests and fields of this memorial area were the stage for the conflict. The Battle of Guilford Courthouse was bloody and fierce and although the rebels lost, the maneuver weakened British forces. This eventually led to England's defeat at Yorktown. Guilford Courthouse is the site where Greene set up three battle lines. The park's visitors center showcases various displays and exhibits as well as military artifacts. Drive through the park, visiting any of the memorials at the eight stops along the way. |

Description:
With roughly eight miles of trails that take from 30 minutes to several hours to navigate, this scenic park can be an adventure. With about 400 acres, Hagan-Stone Park includes a wildlife refuge, recreational sports areas, and a campground. One hiking trail, the Louise Chatfield Trail, measures under three-and-a-half miles and circles the entire park perimeter. Additional features include boat rentals during the summer, free fishing on four stocked lakes, several playgrounds, mountain bike trails, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and a swimming pool. The park is a short 15-minute drive from downtown. |

Description:
Scenic walking trails, paddle boats and an abundant fishing lake may be three of the reasons this is one of the city's most popular recreational sites. Hester Park also hosts a variety of soccer and field football games as well as the city's only nighttime volleyball league. Named for a former park's department director, the site also features two playgrounds, several picnic areas, tetherball, badminton courts and an in-line hockey rink. |
