Found onsite are a zoo featuring animals these early settlers would have encountered, along with a replica sailing ship, an experimental garden, and a restored village. Along with these, you'll find picnic areas, hiking and biking trails, and beautiful regional plant life, including azaleas, camellias, and sprawling live oaks. |

FOLLY ISLAND. Located on the west end of Folly Island. Turn right at the Ashley Avenue stoplight and drive to the end of the road. Amenities include 2500 feet of ocean frontage, 200 feet of river frontage, dressing areas, outdoor showers, restrooms, boardwalks, picnic areas, and a snack bar (seasonally). Boogie board, bicycle, umbrella, and chair rentals available. Lifeguards on duty seasonally. |

Description:
MC CLELLANVILLE. Hampton Plantation Park and Mansion, circa 1735, is located 16 miles south of Georgetown. Home to Archibald Rutledge, author and state poet laureate, the plantation was built by the Huguenots and visited by George Washington in 1791. Picnic area available.

JAMES ISLAND. This 643-acre park offers a full-service campground as well as 10 modern vacation cabins overlooking the Stono River marsh. For additional fees, you can enjoy other activities, including Splash Zone water park and a 50-foot climbing wall which can accommodate 12-15 climbers at a time. Bike rentals are available, as well as a crabbing dock and unrestricted fishing. The park hosts several major festivals throughout the year, such as the Lowcountry Cajun Festival in April. Educational programs for various ages include Challenge Course, turtle walks, and tidal creek exploring. |

A seasonal waterpark also proves thrilling, especially to kids. It features facilities for younger visitors, plus water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a tree house that can douse you in any way imaginable. Changing rooms and water equipment are available. |
