        Description: The 230-acre Gettysburg farm served as the Eisenhowers' weekend retreat during his Presidency and his retirement home thereafter. The President hosted many important world leaders in this informal setting. Many of the home's original furnishings and the family's personal things remain and include several of the President's own paintings. Self-guided walks and house tours are available.

General Lee's Headquarters Museum

        Description: At the time of the Civil War, this picturesque, duplex-style house was the home of the Widow Thompson, her daughter-in-law, and her two small children. In July 1863, Confederate General Robert E. Lee established his personal headquarters here and shared occupancy with the family. Lee's staff chose this stone house for its thick walls and its close proximity to the center of the Confederate line. The museum houses original Civil War artifacts and relics. Credit cards are accepted with a $10 mininum, otherwise admission is cash only.

        Description: The Hall of Presidents allows visitors to view life-size wax figures of each American President and to listen to taped segments of some of their speeches. A special exhibit pays tribute to Dwight D. Eisenhower.         Description: The Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society opened this museum in 1990 as a tribute to the founders of the area's apple industry. Exhibits in the restored mid-19th century barn include life-size replicas of a horse and farmer, widow-maker ladders, machinery, and an 1880's kitchen, along with displays of early deeds and warrants that were created on sheepskin.
