Although it's more familiar as a bar, the place offers tasty pub fare, including sandwiches, burgers, and classic po'boys. Local bands play throughout the week, and you can also shoot pool, try your hand at foosball, or just sit and enjoy well-priced beer and free conversation. |

BATON ROUGE. Comfortable and unassuming, Chelsea's offers a good time without a lot of pretense. It also offers all sorts of distractions, from live music by great local talents to sports on the TV and, sometimes, open mic nights. Two full bars offer dozens of imports and domestic beers, and nightly specials make imbibing even more affordable. Music (generally Wednesday to Saturday) ranges from rock and blues to funk, and crowds always make the performances a terrific experience.
