Description:
From late November through the holidays, a variety of season-celebrating activities takes place throughout the city. Although the best-known may be the Festival of Lights at Old Town's Bazaar del Mundo, you'll also find crafts, food, decorations and carolers at December Nights in Balboa Park, at La Jolla Christmas Parade and Holiday Festival, at Coronado Holiday Lights Walk and at the San Diego Bay lighted boat parade. |

This colorful December event celebrates the holiday season by dressing up local boats in strands of flickering lights and parading them through the harbor to the delight of all who watch. For boaters, a good viewing area is where the parade route turns for Coronado, near the 10th Street Terminal. For landlubbers, try the north or south ends of the Embarcadero or the path along Coronado. Parking is at a premium, so you may want to use public transportation. |

Each summer, the Humphrey’s resort complex on Shelter Island hosts a fantastic series of concerts at the outdoor arena. The season includes performances from comedians such as
Bill Cosby, Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes and Craig Ferguson. Each year there are repeat visits from performers like the Beach Boys, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Chris Isaak, The Doobie Brothers, and Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band.
