Baleen
(Restaurants - Seafood)
1404 Vacation Rd Paradise Point Resort & Spa, San Diego  92109 • 858-490-6363
Description: MISSION BAY. Among the best outdoor dining in Southern California, this resort restaurant’s patio overlooks picturesque Mission Bay, a view that almost makes the food secondary. Fortunately, the food stands up quite well to scrutiny. Seafood with Asian/Californian flair is the focus – citrus marinated swordfish, soy glazed salmon, California-style cioppino, wood-roasted sea bass or scallops – all paired with sides such as truffled parmesan fries, coconut sticky rice, and avocado-grapefruit chimichurri. The “Chef’s Tour of Local Fish and Shellfish” menu is fabulous. Inside, the designers relaxed the elegant décor with an unexpected motif: monkeys.

Even dessert is superlative, and there are 60 wines by the glass, more than 70 vodkas (several infused in-house with fresh fruits and herbs), vodka flights, and unique cocktails.
