Description:
Real Vietnamese cuisine is marvelous, and it is real here! Soups are a staple of Vietnamese cooking, and the most traditional is beef and noodle, which is delicious. The steamed dumplings are also wonderful. There are lunch specials that are a great value and a fixed price sampler dinner for six or more that is outstanding in quantity and quality. This restaurant is in the Monticello Shopping Center – a bit off the beaten path, so you will find mostly locals here. |

| |
Description:
In a town with tons of pancake houses, this one has distinguished itself, serving up breakfast and lunch since 1955. Their pancakes and waffles are so light you won't know how much you have eaten until you get up from the table. Business people and college faculty devour the lunches – the fried chicken fingers and gyros are marvelous and are two of the best deals in town. The atmosphere is 20th-century colonial. Located just two blocks from the historic area. |

Description:
Some of the best barbecue in town is also the best value! Mongolian-style barbecue is not the Southern style many Americans are accustomed to; here you'll find slivers of well-seasoned meat seared on a grill. Served with rice, vegetables or noodles, the barbecue is intense. It's also a treat to watch the cooking! The buffet at Peking is legendary for its diversity and is popular with locals. |

8558 Richmond Rd, Toano 23185 757-566-8255 |
 |
| |
Description:
This is a restaurant that serves great Southern food with a borderline gourmet touch at a reasonable price. No wonder the locals love it. Though it is almost 10 miles out of town, it does not matter; people still line up for the favorite "BBQ Supreme." Pork ribs, mesquite grilled chicken, sliced beef and pulled pork are piled high on the plate. Add hush puppies, fresh-baked bread and two side dishes, and you are in for some good eating. In addition to barbecue, you can find grilled crab cakes, black bean soup, pasta and mouthwatering desserts. |
