The moist and juicy wings can be ordered mild to fiery, in flavors ranging from curry to Jamaican jerk. There are more upscale items on the menu as well. The LA grouper – that's Lower Alabama, not Los Angeles – is excellent and comes with a side of spicy black beans and rice. The rib eye steak also wins kudos from the locals. The broccoli-cheese soup is a daily fixture, but other soups change according to the season. All are served with sesame flatbread and a pecan-cheddar wafer. The most popular lunch is the Downtowne Delight. Chicken salad is served with your choice of side dish – molded cranberry-orange salad, garden salad, Greek pasta salad, artichoke rice, vegetable aspic or new potato salad. |

Known far and wide for their sinfully delicious BBQ ribs, "Big Daddy" Bishop and crew took a simple concept (ribs, their signature sauce, and a few pieces of white Sunbeam bread) and, over the years, developed it into something that can only be described as down-home gourmet. Rustic decor, historic signs, and old photos decorate the walls, recreating the character of the original Jerusalem Heights location, but the food truly steals the show.
