HUNTSVILLE. Dr. William Henry Burritt's 14-room mansion, built in 1936, is the focal point of this 167-acre property. Several rooms are still furnished with Burritt's original furniture. Other rooms house educational displays about the region's history and ecology, Native American artifacts and Dr. Burritt's original inventions. After your house tour, stroll the nature trails that criss-cross Round Top Mountain. A trail guide describes the flora you will encounter, and interpretive signs are posted at the old coal mine, quarry and farm structures. |

Description:
HUNTSVILLE. Native son Bo Jackson's voice introduces visitors to this fun and educational spot, the South's largest hands-on museum. After the preliminary film, youngsters learn about the history of Alabama through a variety of interactive displays. The agriculture display includes a working cotton gin that visitors can operate. Nineteenth century dress-up clothes and a Federal style house are great ways to learn about daily life during the period. Other exhibits include a bandstand complete with giant instruments, a 46-foot keelboat, and even a story telling tree. EarlyWorks is part of a museum complex that includes Constitution Village, Historic Huntsville Depot, and the Humphreys Rodgers House. Combination tickets for all four attractions are available. |

HUNTSVILLE. Formed in 1960 to build rockets for NASA, the Marshall Space Flight Center is one of Huntsville's most fascinating spots. This is home to one of NASA's largest installations, occupying some 1800 acres on Redstone Arsenal. Marshall has been involved in almost every important space project including the Hubble Telescope and the current International Space Station. Each year more than 300,000 visitors come to see where Von Braun's team launched the Redstone rocket, as well as where the Space Shuttle components are manufactured and monitored. Bus tours can be reserved through the U. S. Space and Rocket center. |

CHASE. All aboard! Climb on a lovingly restored antique train for a 10-mile trip through the countryside. Advanced reservations are recommended for train rides. Special Halloween and Christmas rides are geared toward the youngsters in your group. Visitors may take a free self-guided tour of the museum and grounds, and reasonably priced guided tour is also available. The history of Chase Depot, the smallest union depot in the United States is fully explained in a video presentation inside an old train car. Tours of a renovated railway post office car and a Pullman sleeping car are also featured. |

Description:

Other exhibits teach about electricity and magnets, world ecosystems and fluid dynamics. The museum's chief attraction is the immersive theater, where visitors watch giant 3-D images projected onto a 12x24 foot screen. Description:
HUNTSVILLE. This is the world's largest space attraction, and you should plan on spending at least a day of your Huntsville visit here. Over 60 exhibits teach about the universe and space travel. Simulators let visitors experience a space shot, G-forces, and weightlessness onboard a spacecraft. The park includes NASA rockets, such as a full-size space shuttle exhibit and the Saturn V rocket. Visitors may tour the grounds of the U. S. Space Camp Training Center where kids of all ages go to experience life in the final frontier. An IMAX theater shows dramatic footage of astronauts aboard the space shuttle. |
