Description:
HUNTSVILLE. Formed in 1960 to build rockets for NASA, the Marshall Space Flight Center is one of Huntsville's most fascinating spots. This is home to one of NASA's largest installations, occupying some 1800 acres on Redstone Arsenal. Marshall has been involved in almost every important space project including the Hubble Telescope and the current International Space Station. Each year more than 300,000 visitors come to see where Von Braun's team launched the Redstone rocket, as well as where the Space Shuttle components are manufactured and monitored. Bus tours can be reserved through the U. S. Space and Rocket center. |

Description:
HUNTSVILLE. Take a ride in a tornado, experience an earthquake, or travel through the human body – you can do all of this and more at this hands-on science museum. Other exhibits teach about electricity and magnets, world ecosystems and fluid dynamics. The museum's chief attraction is the immersive theater, where visitors watch giant 3-D images projected onto a 12x24 foot screen. Using touch screen monitors, individuals can ask questions, learn facts, and take quizzes, making the movie an experience customized to the viewer. |

Description:
HUNTSVILLE. This is the world's largest space attraction, and you should plan on spending at least a day of your Huntsville visit here. Over 60 exhibits teach about the universe and space travel. Simulators let visitors experience a space shot, G-forces, and weightlessness onboard a spacecraft. The park includes NASA rockets, such as a full-size space shuttle exhibit and the Saturn V rocket. Visitors may tour the grounds of the U. S. Space Camp Training Center where kids of all ages go to experience life in the final frontier. An IMAX theater shows dramatic footage of astronauts aboard the space shuttle. |
