An Old Time Christmas

"An Old Time Christmas" features a dazzling and enormous display of holiday lights, including a five-story Christmas tree and the Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light Parade. 
 
Among the scores of special events, you'll be able to take in a production of A Dickens' Christmas Carol, an original musical adaptation of the famous Christmas classic.

The purpose of the festival is to highlight the craftsmanship of the Ozarks, but it's certain that the event encompasses much more – to everyone's delight.

The selection includes arts and crafts, handmade soaps, quilts, dolls, knitted and crocheted items, and toys. Some of the folks in attendance even create while you watch. Lots of nibbles are available too, from sausages to funnel cakes.

        Description: Giving due reverence to our American heritage, this six-week festival (three festivals, actually: a food festival, a cowboy festival, and an art festival) honors the country's venerable traditions. As a result, visitors encounter heartfelt music, accomplished craftspeople, and entertainers of all sorts. Cowboy/girl culture is given a strong promotion, as seen in rodeo events, Western art, and old-fashioned barn dances. The food is just as robust as you'd expect, courtesy of barbecued ribs, fried fish, chili, beef stew, Southwestern fare, and apple dumplings.

        Description: Intent on giving thanks for, and reminding visitors of, the sacrifices made by American servicemen and -women, Branson's Veterans Day festival has been recognized as the nation's largest such event. It's chock-full of activities that honor the people who have fought for US safety and security, from concerts and theater events to recognition ceremonies. The festival also gives veterans a chance to meet, reminisce, and mourn. The most visible aspect of the week-long celebration is a downtown parade at 11am on the final Saturday. Most events are free, but certain ones do charge fees.

        Description: In years past, this showcase of holiday spirit was concentrated along 2½ miles of Branson Hills Parkway, but it's now been broken up into clusters to spread the cheer around and to free up the thoroughfare. No matter where displays are located, folks marvel at the beauty and effort of the spectacle, which features millions of lights and a wealth of visual takes on the Christmas celebration, both sacred and secular. Many thousands of vehicles typically make the circuit during the two-month event.
