DOWNTOWN. Billed as Appleton's "World Famous Cocktail Lounge," Cleo's is one of those quirky little nightspots you'll never forget having visited. The place is always decorated for the holidays – that is, all holidays, since the eclectic decor includes Christmas lights, Valentine hearts, plastic Santas, and jack-o-lanterns. Otherwise, this classic downtown lounge features a long bar, tall bistro-style tables, and a friendly staff and clientele who are quick to engage newcomers in chatter about current events. |

DOWNTOWN. This Windy City-style martini lounge has all the makings of a Prohibition Era speakeasy, complete with an Al Capone mannequin who "keeps an eye on things" from a corner table. Old posters on the wall depict scenes from the Roaring '20s, and cushy leather seats and private tables are conducive to intimate conversations. Light jazz or swing often plays on the stereo system or, if you're lucky, a band takes to the small stage area and woos the crowd. Tops, though, is the extensive martini list, which boasts more than 70 different concoctions. Deja Vu is open Tuesday-Saturday, but also on Sundays and Mondays when there is a show at the PAC. |

Description:
APPLETON. Check out America's hottest up-and-coming comedians – the ones you see on Comedy Central, HBO, or "Late Night with David Letterman" – at the Fox Cities' only comedy club north of Milwaukee. Skyline has a capacity of close to 200 people and most performances sellout in advance, so it's best to get tickets in advance, especially if a big-name comic is slated to perform. Two-drink minimum. |
