Description:
WINTER PARK. Francophiles will adore this cozy bistro and its lovely, park side location. Expectedly, the cuisine is top-notch. Devoted to savory meats and flavorful sauces, the restaurant features such dishes as rack of lamb with country mustard or duck breast with a port and dried cherry sauce. Appetizers themselves are a brief foreshadowing of the meal, and pates and soups celebrate the French culinary tradition. Meals are accompanied by salads and bread; desserts are also available. 533 W New England Ave Hannibal Square, Winter Park 32789 407-599-2929 |
 |
| |
Description:
WINTER PARK. An intimate bistro set in Hannibal Square, this charming place courts diners with classic, if not unusual, dishes and a handful of inventive choices. Although not everyone adores escargot or frog's legs, most will take pleasure in lamb, venison, or salmon. Entrees generally come with a rich sauce that enhances but doesn't overpower the flavor of the meat; examples include cherries and port wine or cream and vermouth. Taking this idea to its next level are signature plates which feature several different meat selections, each accompanied by a particular sauce. For a special treat, try the rich, creamy mashed potatoes. |

 |
| |
Description:
MAGIC KINGDOM ®. Vibrant colors and wrought iron detailing set the scene for this upscale restaurant, which has an exhibition kitchen as its focal point. Specializing in French cuisine, including that from Alsace and Provençe, the restaurant creates entrees such as rack of lamb with black olives, oak-grilled veal tenderloin, roasted monkfish, and braised veal shank. Its seasonal menu makes the most of available produce, a practice that even extends to the dessert offerings. A fabulous wine list represents countries from around the world; if you'd like, selections can be paired with each course of your meal. The restaurant, although expensive, does welcome children and provides them their own menu. Reservations suggested. Resort casual attire. |

La Coquina |

|
1 Grand Cypress Blvd Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, Lake Buena Vista 32819 407-239-1234 |
 |
| |
Description:
LAKE BUENA VISTA. Considered one of the area's most desirable "special occasion" destinations, La Coquina offers an incredible lakeside view and the talents of a resident pianist. Terrific service complements a seven-course meal at the chef's table. A prix fixe menu makes the agony of choice less penetrating and allows you to concentrate on the experience rather than the decision. If you're intent on savoring the Grand Marnier soufflé while black swans drift on the lake outside, that's a good thing. DiRoNA award-winner. |

Le Coq Au Vin |

4800 S Orange Ave, Orlando 32806 407-851-6980 |
 |
| |
Description:
SOUTH ORANGE AVE. Refreshingly unpretentious, this well-received restaurant is run by a husband-and-wife team. Concerned more with food than reputation, they've nonetheless managed to succeed at both. The cuisine, in short, is incredible, especially the wine-infused dish for which the restaurant was named. The menu, although it changes seasonally, keeps this entree and delights guests with a range of seafood, steak, poultry, and veal dishes. The sweetbreads with morel mushrooms is also a classic much-requested by purists. For dessert, those in the know recommend the soufflés, particularly one tinged with Grand Marnier. Service is great. |

Les Chefs de France |
|
(Restaurants - French) |
|
France Pavilion Disney's World Showcase – Epcot ®, Lake Buena Vista 32819 407-939-3463 |
 |
| |
Description:
EPCOT ®. Modeled after a turn-of-the-century Parisian brasserie, this restaurant succeeds under the tutelage of three French chefs. A classic in the Disney fold, Les Chefs delivers reliable, if not overly innovative, cuisine that more than fits the bill for eager patrons. And in the tradition of the brasserie, it works. Escargot, pates, and beef burgundy answer the call for familiar favorites; grilled salmon, Mediterranean seafood casserole, and coq au vin also deliver the goods. Desserts include crème brûlée, soufflés, and pastries. If you're in the mood for something more formal, the upstairs venue offers more upscale food at commensurate prices. Smart casual dress. |

|
1346 Orange Ave, Winter Park 32789 407-629-2111 |
 |
| |
Description:
WINTER PARK. A far cry from typical Chinese restaurants, Winnie's is reason for celebration. The spare decor, accented with fresh flowers and quiet music, serves as a counterpoint to the menu of carefully spiced dishes. Seafood and vegetables provide the base for many of the entrees, which are Cantonese and Shanghai in origin. Crispy calamari with soy vinaigrette, steamed lobster with ginger scallions and lamb Shanghai only touch on the savory selections available. You'll also find Peking duck, eggplant with spicy garlic sauce and pan-fried vegetable dumplings. Choose from your favorites and enjoy the evening. |
