Description:
AUGUSTA. Take a step back into a bygone era at this Chippewa Valley historic site, located some three miles north of Highway 27. Built in the 1860s using hand-hewed timbers and wooden pegs, the 5-story mill operated for nearly 100 years before being retired, grinding grain into flour and feed for farmers from far and wide. Today, the mill serves as a museum; however, on special occasions, the owners get the old wheel going and do some grinding. |
