You can look but don't touch! The Loggerhead turtles of Hilton Head build approximately 100 nests a year. However, only 1 in 10,000 eggs survives to adulthood, making them a threatened species. It is illegal to bother them or their nesting areas. In fact, there are several prohibitions regarding numerous island inhabitants, so look but don't touch – just to be on the safe side!
